Sorata Kanda is a laid-back and somewhat grumpy high school student who finds himself stuck in a peculiar situation at Sakurasou, a dormitory for problem students. As the main protagonist of "The Pet Girl of Sakurasou", Sorata is initially forced to take care of Mashiro Shiina, a talented but eccentric girl who is unable to look after herself. Throughout the series, Sorata's dry wit and sarcastic remarks often clash with the antics of his dorm mates, but beneath his tough exterior lies a kind and caring individual who genuinely wants to help those around him.
