Shinji Ikari is the reluctant hero of the iconic anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. This introverted and emotionally scarred young boy is forced to pilot the giant humanoid mecha, Evangelion Unit-01, to fight against the monstrous beings known as Angels that threaten humanity's existence.
